What is WebRTC?
WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) is a standard enabling real-time communication between browsers without plugins or additional software.
Main components
getUserMedia
Accesses the user's camera and microphone. Handles permissions and device selection.
RTCPeerConnection
Establishes peer-to-peer connection. Manages codecs, resolution, and bandwidth control.

The signaling problem
To establish a WebRTC connection, peers need to exchange metadata (SDP, ICE candidates) through a signaling server.
STUN and TURN
STUN discovers public IP. TURN relays traffic when direct connection isn't possible (symmetric NAT). TURN is bandwidth-intensive.
Codecs
